Calypso Tip
If you are doing 1 chani into it, make sure that you have a deep plie when you come out of it, if you are doing 2 chanis then make the second one in plie. When you are coming out of the chani make sure that you start the fan kick from the corner and it goes all around. Get your back leg up into attitude quickly. You want to make sure you get the moment where both feet are off the ground at the same time. Keep practicing and you'll get it.
When your taking a jazz class, or any dance class, you need to know the steps.
BALL CHANGE Change weight R+L ball-stamp (step-stamp), or stamp-stamp.
CATCH STEP Like a ball change but from flat foot to flat foot (stamp).
CHASSES One foot chases the other.
JAZZ WALK Sassy walk on releve in witch you walk out with you feet almost touching your bottom
JAZZ RUN Like a jazz walk but fast (running).
JAZZ WALK-DRAG Walking straight in plié with shoulders in opposition.
MOONWALK The walk forward that goes backwards (Michael Jackson).
PIVOT Step front, twist and step back twist (pivot).
TOUCH Point your foot to the floor (step touch or touch step)
